Eve makes WWE her garden

On the Philadelphia edition of Raw, WWE added a Diva to its roster when Todd Grisham announced Eve Torres as the winner of the 2007 WWE Diva Search.

“It was a really long process and it all came down to one moment,” Eve explained. “It’s like a really huge weight being lifted off my shoulders. At the same time, it’s just the beginning and it’s just the start of me learning so much and taking so much in.”

Eve hurdled a great deal of obstacles to get to this point. First, she was selected as one of only 50 girls to participate in the competition from a pool of virtually countless applicants. From there, she earned her place as one of the final eight contestants. Afterward, she earned your votes week after week until she was the only hopeful left standing.

Eve said she remained confident every step of the way, but she admitted that as Grisham prepared to reveal which contestant – her or Brooke Gilbertsen – would be WWE’s next Diva, she didn’t know what to think.

“I’m excited about developing as a Diva and finding where my place is in this company,” Eve said. “What’s also exciting is being able to interact with fans more and having that support system.”

Eve sees herself standing out particularly for her athleticism. She mentioned a unique style that she can’t wait to unleash on the sports-entertainment world.

And Eve’s family might be the happiest about her accomplishment.

“They see this as a wonderful opportunity,” Eve said. “A lot of my cousins are excited. They’ve been so supportive. It’s one thing when my family is just happy, but it’s another thing when they’re really proud of me.”

As for Eve, she is happiest for her new relationship with our fans.

“I’m so grateful for all those who voted for me and saw something in me,” she said. “I’m going to prove to them that they made the right decision and I’m going to give them everything they hope for in a Diva.”
